    • Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all vehicles and equipment assigned to fleet 
    • Assist and collaborate with Fleet Manager to develop, plan, and implement maintenance and repairs of all vehicles and assets  
    • Keep maintenance and repair records; perform preventive maintenance on all vehicles; order repair parts 
    • Keep equipment available for use by inspecting and testing vehicles; complete preventive maintenance including: engine tune-ups, oil changes, tire rotation and changes, wheel balancing, replacing filters  
    • Maintain vehicle functional condition by: attending to operator complaints, conduct inspections, repair engine failures and mechanical/electrical system malfunctions and replace parts/components 
    • Repair and maintain fleet equipment, tools, and materials 
    • Check all repair work performed in shop for completeness and compliance with standards, including physical inspections and tests prior to returning vehicle to fleet  
    • Maintain asset branding procedures 
    • Oversee daily shop operations and scheduling of vehicle service 
    • Analyze and document fleet and asset inventory 
    • Maintain and monitor parts room, procurement and inventory 
    • Engage and invest in the training of new and current employees  
    • Generate reports necessary for department operations 
    • Other duties as assigned 



    • High School Diploma or GED completion 
    • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred 
    • Minimum of two (2) years (4,000 hours) work zone temporary traffic control experience preferred 
    • 1+ years management experience a plus 
    • Strong leadership, communication and coaching skills 
    • Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills 
    • Strong motivational and interpersonal skills 
    • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products and customer relationship management systems 
    • Must adhere to and promote safe workplace practices 
    • Must maintain a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record void of suspension or revocation 


    Employee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include the following: 

    • Expect 40+ hour work week, occasional weekends and holidays 
    • Hours of operation vary based on projects and staffing needs 
    • Majority of time will be spent in the field   
    • The position works in outside conditions that include inclement weather, not limited to heat, cold, humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt 
    • Frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, moving vehicles and occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites 
    • Noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud 
    • Position lifts or carries objects up to 50 pounds  
    • Stands for long periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions 
    • The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue  
    • Position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination
